JTC demands three satellite townships for KP migrants in Valley | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 10: While highlighting the problems of the Kashmiri Pandit Migrant community, the Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) today sought rehabilitation of the community in Kashmir valley. Addressing a press conference here today, the JTC president Shadi Lal Pandita demanded three Sattellite townships near Srinagar city for accommodating migrant Kashmiri Pandits. He further said that the migrants from districts of Baramulla, Kupwara and Bandipora in one township while migrant Kashmiri Pandits from districts of Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal in 2nd township and Migrant Kashmiri Pandits from districts of Anantnag, Pulwama, Shopian and Kulgam in 3rd township. While having interactions with the media persons the members have demanded construction of single storey quarters in all three townships comprising of three bedrooms, lobby, kitchen, bathroom etc for ensuring dignified living of the community members. The central as well as state governments have been asked to accord minority status to the community with due political reservation in Lok Sabha of India as well as J&K State assembly. Pandita said that different statements are being given by the leaders of BJP and PDP, some leaders have been assuring composite township for the rehabilitation of the Kashmir. Pandit community and others from PDP have been opposing rehabilitation of the Kashmiri Pandit community in composite townships under the pressure of Hurriyat Conference and separatist organizations. |
