A N Bharadwaj

It is an encouraging that
Mufti Mohd, Sayed, Pa
tron PDP, State regional political party and Dr. Nirmal Singh, State BJP leader patronized by national level BJP headed by Narinder Modi, Prime Minister who nursed and nurtured in two different ideologies dedicated to promote the cause for peace, prosperity and developments for their State as well as to face the diabolic challenge of Pak-supported blood-spilling terrorists for smooth running of their State administration. May God give them success in their adventurous test to set example in the world to discharge their national obligation under secular principles for peace, harmony and developments in broad and generous way? This is an emerging land of Aryans advocated by a social reformer Swami Daya Nand Sarswati, which is proud for the nation. The centuries old peace-message disseminating spring of the valley welcomes these two leaders of having two different ideologies who came out with dedication to shine the atmosphere of the State with the message of peace and harmony to live in the relation of kith and kins by reviving the composite culture which is an onslaught of Pak-terrorism generated on its soil to bleed India, especially the State. Their daring adventure for inviting anti-India elements working in the valley to implement Pak-agenda in the State, in very generous manner to discharge constructive role for peace and developments has found the golden space in the history of the State. That was their encouraging message to serve humanity at large, which is one of the glimpses of Indian civilization, culture and traditions. That credit goes to them.
This is that land where great Emperor Ashoka had constructed glorious capital Srinagar and dwelling colonies for the people in lakhs, and appointed his son Jalauka as Viceroy, and others, spread the peace and non-violence message on the land of not only Kashmir, but also Jammu where sufis and saints disseminated the light of peace despite the misadventure of radical alien extremist raiders followed under the fit of fanatic ideologies to water down their preaching of mutual harmony and peace. The Sufi shrines attracted Hindu devotees, such as Baba Faiz Baksh Sayed Bukhari at Balle-da-Bagh, Akhoor, where annual Urs is held at the shrine, which is equally regarded by Hindus and Muslims jointly, and gives message for communal harmony. That region of the same land is also home to several sufis, where Peer Buddan Shah at Chatha, Panj Peer at Manda, and Peer Roshan Ali Shah at Gumat. Peer Shahen Shah Wali at Karan Nagar, Baba Jeewan Shah Durgah Pirmitha and Durgah Peer Lakhdatta, which are regarded Hindus and Muslims jointly and are source of inspiration to make the asset for composite culture.
More than five thousand years ago, King of Kashmir Go-nand participated as ally of Korve in the great war of Mahabharata at Kurkshetra. That territory has ever been remained with India politically, economically, socially and culturally. That land
has been the spring of peace torch of Buddhism for human beings to live with harmony. That land has also been a great Center of Islamic culture from where the peace message was transmitted to the world. On the whole that land of Jammu & Kashmir has been meeting ground of different culture of big continent Asia. That land is proud to remain aloof from communal frenzy and in case happening of disharmony that had been of short duration, but on the whole the people of the land has been living with the relation of kith and kins by regarding composite culture.
Some centuries ago, the Sufis and saints preached the same message to make people an asset for composite culture to develop communal harmony and restore peace. That land is a fountain of peace, from where the peace message was given by other social reformers like Mahatma Gandhi, Pt. Nehru and Sheikh Abdullah who also spread peace message among the people for peace and developed composite culture for communal harmony, and rejected two-nation theory of All India Muslim League President M A Jinnah.
In all the traditional background based on non-violence, peace and unique composite culture, the Indian National Congress that then leading the nation has decided during its Independence movement for future rule of its nation to be the secular policy by granting unbridle freedom constitutionally on every respects according to their traditions, religious faiths, social customs according to their aspirations The same suggestions were given by the Congress leaders to Jinnah to follow the same policy of secularism and work jointly for communal harmony and prosperity for its nation. The Congress leaders who then had been leading the nation were strict to follow their secular policy and after attaining freedom they had been firm constitutionally to rule their nation with secular policy without any distinguish of any community. On the other hand the Pak-rulers followed two-nation theory. It had been the reason that when the Kashmir case was being contested by Pakistan against India in U N Security Council, at that time, Sir Feroze Khan Noon on behalf of Pakistan prayed lamentably to allow him to plead with his last argument that it was a Muslim majority territory and under Indian Independence Act 0f 1947, Muslim majority territory if that was contiguous should go to Pakistan, but his that argument fell flat then and there , because of that two-nation theory had never been accepted by the Indian rulers. Thus the Kashmir case was dismissed against Pakistan.
In 1946, All India Muslim League President M A Jinnah visited the valley to woo the Kashmiri leaders and others to merge their State with Pakistan. First of all, he approached His Highness the Maharaja J&K State Hari Singh with the proposal to merge his State with Pakistan and in lieu of that he assured to grant unbridles political and other relating powers. During his canvassing, His Highness, the Maharaja had been attending silently, but he did not show his any nod. Thereafter he went back without any results. Afterwards, he approached to meet Kashmiri tall leader Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah with a proposal to merge the State with Pakistan on religious basis of two-nation theory, but he rejected Jinnah's proposal with an argument that they had no faith for two-nation theory and the religion had no room in political issue, and they believed in secularism along with composite culture; resulting in he watered-down his religious based two-nation theory who at that time had been leading the people of the J&K State. Thus Jinnah went back with empty hands frustratingly.
After the partition of British India in 1947, the His highness J&K State entered in to an Stand Still agreement with Pakistan, which was accepted by it, and the same process was repeated to enter agreement with India, which had being viewed, but in the meanwhile, the Pak-forces with provocative tribal raiders were seen running towards Kashmir by killing the people who so ever appeared in their way, committing loot-plunder, sexual assaults, rapping and bloodshed and set their villages and green fields on fire by converting into grave yards without any discrimination. At that dark time helpless Maharaja having no other alternative to protect their subjects from bloodshed, who had being killed en masse and the boundaries of his State, except to accede his State to India and he submitted his proposal for the accession of his State to India which was accepted by it. India dispatched its forces to defeat the Pak- nefarious designs by keeping the Stand-still proposal pending. On the front India observed that Pak-committed a blatant aggression, and the quick movement of its forward march was hurdled by the unarmed Kashmiri people headed by Sheikh Mohd. Abdullah till Indian army reached, but despite that before blocking the Pak-violent forward movement, it had encroached upon some part of the State territory; however its forces were defeated and retreated to their barracks and further onward rapid march was stopped by the Indian forces. It goes to the credit to the Kashmiri people that they under, the leadership of Sheikh Abdulla, preferred to follow the secularism by discarding Jinnah's religious based two-nation theory at the cost of their blood and followed to live by following composite culture for everlasting communal harmony. On the same land Mufti Mohd. Sayed along with coalition party leader Dr, Nirmal Singh, patronized by National Government headed by BJP leader Narinder Modi, Prime Minister, India, of having divergent ideologies appeared on the horizon to serve the State to restore peace and communal harmony under secular policy with the protection of composite culture, for the developments in all respects with the shower of generosity towards anti-national elements working in the valley at the behest of Pakistan for its interest with the weapon of violence and bloodshed. May God give them courage and sustainable confidence to serve humanity at large to challenge the negative forces to stop their disintegrable activities as a responsible national of India under sense of responsibility.
