BARAMULLA, May 21: The Handicrafts and police departments are clueless in tracing the whereabouts of a person who has duped hundreds of innocent girls in Kashmir valley by promising them jobs in lieu of money. No FIR has been filed so far with the higher ups of Handicrafts department saying that the concerned person doesn't belong to them.
Sources told Early Times that a fraudster Parvaiz Qureshi who introduced himself as a field officer had opened Handicraft centers under the centrally sponsored scheme Rajiv Gandhi Literacy Mission(RGLM) at various places including Rohama, Douchanpora, Ashpora, Potusa, Khushpora, Saripara, Paraypora, and other parts of the Kashmir valley.
"In January 2015, the first center was opened in Rabin Nowpora of Sopore town where twenty five girls were admitted to avail the benefits under this scheme, adding, Qureshi has fixed Rs 6000 for teachers and Rs 500 and Rs 1000 for different categories of students, so that they could run the centers, said sources.
Sources said, These girls were told that they will get the training in Pashmina, embroidery, knitting, Sozni and other soft skill courses for which they have to pay the registration fee of Rs 500 and against which they were promised that they will be paid a Checque of Rs 10,000 on independence or Republic day along with order copy of adjustment.
A girl wishing not to be named said that, He (Qureshi) has taken our documents including Ration card, Adhar Card, State Subject, academic certificates and four passport size photographs.
However it is learnt that SIM Cards were taken out from the documents of Abida, Rifat, Shazia, Joolie and other girls of Hadipora Rafiabad, she said.

This has to be thoroughly investigated and at the moment we cannot comment, let these girls compliant before the police first, Director added.
A senior police official said that, let these girls come forward and file a written compliant and accordingly we, will register FIR against this fraudulent person.
