Jammu, May 21: The J&K government has enhanced the cash relief given to migrant Kashmiri Pandits (KPs) from Rs 1650 to Rs 2500 per family member. The order issued by Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation department under order number 84 Rev/R&R/MR of 2015, dated 20/5/2015, reads: "In suppression of all previous orders issued on the subject, sanction is accorded to the enhancement of cash assistance to (KPs) at Jammu from the existing Rs 1650 per head per month, subject to the ceiling of Rs 6600 per family for four or more members, to Rs 2500 per head per month subject to the ceiling of Rs 10,000 per family per month with effect from May 1, 2015." The order, a copy of which is in possession of Early Times, mentions that the expenditure incurred by the state government would be debited to the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) and reimbursable by the government of India. Pertinently, the government of India had accorded sanction to enhance the cash relief of KPs from Rs 1650 per head to Rs 2500 per head. |
