Early Times Report Jammu, May 21: Exports key to success of Make in India programme - Industry Minister, J&K Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in association with EXIM Bank (Export-Import Bank of India) organised a seminar on India's Competitiveness in Foreign Trade at Srinagar, here today. According to press release, Minister of Industries & Commerce, J&K, Chander Prakash Ganga, while appreciating CII, said, "There is a dire need to spread awareness about India's key policies, schemes and initiatives aimed to boost foreign trade, amongst the Kashmiri exporters, so that they can benefit from the same". He further added "The present Union Government is committed to the cause of Exporters and will take all necessary actions to help and protect them. The Prime Minister's dream of Make in India Project will be realised if and only if we support and encourage the exporters. Kashmir has huge potential for Exports in Floriculture, Handicrafts etc which is still unexplored. Our country is growing fast and we will do our best to promote export from J&K. it is also imperative that youngsters look for new entrepreneurial opportunities and try to be job creators rather than Job seekers. Earlier, Sheikh Imran, Vice Chairman, CII J&K State Council and Director Kehwa Group stressed upon the need of export promotion and added that CII is committed to provide more and more such platforms to spread awareness about Government's schemes to the exporters and industry as a whole. N Shanker, Director Exim Bank (Export Import Bank of India) on the occasion said that Exim Bank is committed to help all sections of Exporters and will give special emphasis to reaching out to the exporters of Kashmir. The event was attended by over 60 participants that include exporters, industry, local association representatives, government officials and students. |
