JAMMU, May 21: State volleyball teams today left for participation in the 23rd Mini National Volleyball (boys and girls) Championship to be held at Erode in Tamil Nadu from May 27 to May 31. Prior to their departure, the team underwent a screening test conducted by the State Sports Council. Earlier, a 14-day coaching camp was organised by the Sports Council for the selected probable under the supervision of coaches. The team was flagged off by president of Volleyball Association of J&K, Sidharth Daluja amidst good wishes from patron in chief of the Association, Raj Daluja, who also interacted with the teams and handed over sports kits to the players. Placed in group-B, J&K boys shall take on Uttar Pradesh, Pondicherry, Maharashtra and Odisha. On the other hand girls' team shall be playing against Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh in group-C. The teams are accompanied by Mohd. Tariq, Balbinder Singh, Subash Shastri and Neelam Sharma as coaches and managers Rajan Sharma Divisional Sports Officer (J) of J&K State Sports Council conducted the screening of J&K State Mini Volleyball Boys and Girls teams along with Sh. Ravi Singh Manager M.A. Stadium Sports Complex Jammu also wished the team for best of luck on the occasion.
