| AJKPC seeks release of pension for 'widows, old age' | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 21: Alleging that thousands of old age, widows and other people are harassed on account of non release of their social welfare pension, Anil Sharma, President All Jammu and Kashmir Panchayat Conference (AJKPC) today demanded for early release of pension for widows, old age, handicap, orphan and all other kind of pensions issued by the J & K Social Welfare Department. President AJKPC, Anil Sharma stated that as per information available with him and feedback from the victims there are thousands of people including Widows, Senior Citizens, Handicap persons and orphans whose monthly pension which is just 200 to 300 is not released on monthly basis and now since last one year, the people are just visiting their banks and coming back with empty hands as the funds have not been released by the Social Welfare department in their accounts. The AJKPC president appealed Bali Bhagat, the Minister of Social Welfare to intervene and to ensure release of pension and make sure that in future these innocent people do not suffer. Citing an evidence, some names of some pensioner belonging to Nagrota Assembly Constituency who have not received the pension funds since last one year including Amri Devi (Widow Pnesion No. 126) resident of Panchayat Halqa Jandrah, Rama Devi Widow of Late Rajesh Kumar, (Pension File no. 139), Chanchla Devi Widow of Bishan Dass (File no 89/399) and Ishro Devi widow of Munishi Ram (File no. 26/334), Anil demanded early release of pensions as this is a humane issue and needs to be handkles on priority basis. |
