Jammu, May 21: Satwari police arrested five gamblers and recovered Rs 3950 from their possession. Police identified the arrested as Ramandeep Singh of Chatha Farm, Surinder Singh of Digiana Camp Jammu, Jeet Raj of Old Satwari, Amarjeet Singh of Govindpura Chatha, and Harpreet Singh of Kanachak Jammu. Police sources said that on specific information that gambling is going on in an open field opposite Airport Satwari, team led by Inspector Kulbir Choudhary, SHO Satwari police station under the supervision of senior officer raided the place and arrested five gamblers red handed. Police recovered Rs 3950 as stake money along with the playing cards. A case under section 13 Gambling Act has been registered in police Station Satwari. |
