Another Shocker: UKG student subjected to corporal punishment in Rajouri

Rajouri, May 21: Continuing to its notoriety for corporal punishment, one minor - a student of UKG was subjected to corporal punishment but the school authorities are pressurizing the parents of victim not highlight the case.
Sources said, in a recent case of corporal punishment a minor reportedly was thrashed by his teacher. The incident took place in a private institution at Rajouri city today but the parents were reportedly requested by the Managing Director of the school not to highlight the issue.
"Mehran Ali son of a master in education department is a student of UKG in Panorama Higher Secondary School where he was put to corporal punishment, reliable sources said.
"On some dispute class teacher punished the boy with a stick and the victim received several visible injury marks on his back," they said, adding the family however has not revealed the teacher's name right now reasons better known to them.
They added that before the parents could approach the police, Managing Director (MD) of the school reportedly had requested the father not to highlight the issue and wait till he returns to Rajouri as he presently is out of Rajouri. He reportedly had assured the master that he will take appropriate action against the erring teacher.
Pertinently corporal punishment is punishable offence as per Apex Court guidelines but Rajouri has attained a notoriety in this regard as earlier in the month of September,2014 an ad-hoc lecturer had punished Gurdeep Singh, 11th class student at Higher Secondary School at Chingus resulting injury to his left eye and victim was admitted in eye unit at Govt Medical College Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu.
Earlier in 2013, one 6th class student namely Muzzafar Ahmed was severally thrashed by a teacher identified as Mohd Aurangzeb of Shere-e-Kashmir HSS school in Darhal tehsil.
