Jammu, June 3: A meeting of District Congress Committee Jammu Urban was held here today at PCC HQ. Shaheedi Chowk, Jammu under the presidentship of Anil Chopra in which various problems of people were highlighted besides it took stock of the progress of the ongoing membership drive of the party.
Speaking on the occasion Chopra said that there is acute shortage of ration at all the government ration depots in Jammu city and the general public, especially the poor are facing great hardships on this score.
They have been compelled to purchase ration from the open market on higher rates. The prices of essential commodities like pluses and vegetables are sky rocketing.
There are long scheduled and unscheduled cuts in the electric power supply and shortage of drinking water in many localities of the city.
He said that present coalition government is non-serious to the problems of people and the general public is facing great hardships.
He criticized government for cruel joke with the farmers by providing them relief in the shape of cheque of rupees below Rs. 100/-. |
