Basohli, June 3: Department of Tourism specifically Lakhanpur-Sarthal Development Authority, LSDA, constructed a View Point at Sanan Ghat to felicitate locals and tourists in 2011-12 Financial year but nobody looked after the points rendering them dilapidated.
Raj Kumar a local youthaccused the Tourism Department of ignoring the dilapidated condition of the View Point that could have attracted tourists had it been maintained properly. Kumar said the LSDA constructed the point and assured to provide basic facilities but nothing has been done in this regard.
Sham Lal, another prominent person said, "Tourists could not reach the spot due to bad road connectivity. He said LSDA must take initiative for providing employment to those who land will be acquired for the construction of point but nothing has been done till day."
When contacted to Dr Bharat Bhushan, CEO, LSDA, contradicted his own statement. He said the department has no provision for renovation of such View Points but with the passage of time, he said department will renovate the Point as soon as possible.
It is pertinent to mention here that Rs 3.90 lacs were released for the View Point of Sanan Ghat in 2011-12 but according to the contractor and locals only 35 thousand were utilized and work abandoned in midst that smelling out grafting in the case.
