Early Times Report Jammu, June 3: The PDP-BJP coalition government is functioning well, said BJP spokesperson Arun Gupta while reacting to the statement of RSS leader Inderesh Kumar that "the people of Jammu province might forgive the BJP for its failings and shortcomings taking into consideration the "sacrifice of the party". Inderesh Kumar hadon Tuesday criticized the functioning of the coalition government and asserted that the "people of Kashmir will not forgive the BJP's coalition partner, as the separatists have gained an upper hand in the Valley". He had taken a line different from Ram Madhav, BJP national general secretary and one of the chief architects of the agenda of alliance, which has no taker in Jammu province and Ladakh region as well as in KP refugee camps. They dismiss the agenda of alliance as "agenda of betrayal". Arun Gupta defended the coalition to the hilt and said that it is trying to provide good governance. Describing the alliance as "historic", he said, "Yes, there are some teething problems, but the coalition will overcome these problems". At the same time, he accused "out-of-power people" for making mountains out of molehills or critcing the coalition for no reason. But more than that, he said "the RSS stand on the coalition is the RSS stand" and "the RSS ideology is OK". He didn't defend the RSS leader's stand on the coalition or his views on the developing situation in the Valley. For the BJP spokesperson, what had been happening in Kashmir "were some teething problems". The PDP spokesperson also took on Inderesh Kumar and advised him not to make any issue out of non-issue. He, like the BJP spokesperson, also commended the functioning of the coalition and asserted that Kashmir deserved some special attention and care because it suffered during the 2014 September floods. Arun Gupta was in full accord with the PDP spokesperson, who hails from Jammu. The point is that neither the BJP nor the PDP appreciated the intervention of Inderesh Kumar in Jammu & Kashmir. They virtually advised him to keep himself aloof from the state. It will be seen how Inderesh Kumar takes what Arun Gupta said. |
