Civil Rights groups demand ban on Maggi in State
6/3/2015 11:15:18 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 3: Expressing resentment over the casual approach of the Jammu and Kashmir Government over the ongoing Maggi Controversy, today members of Civil Rights groups including Social activists, legal practitioners, Panchayat bodies, environmentalists and other prominent citizens made a demand to the State Government to immediately ban the sale of Maggi from entire state.
As per press release, they demanded to get the samples of Nestle Maggi tested in independent Laboratories. "Lead and MSG Monosodium glutamate are dangerous chemical product and the presence of these chemicals at level much more higher than the permitted set level is a serious concern and adversely affects the health of the persons consuming these products " they said. Expressing displeasure over the State Government for not taking any cue from other state Governments which while showing concern for the heath of their citizens have put a ban on the sale of Maggi in their states after finding the presence of lead and MSG Monosodium glutamate, the Civil Society members demanded that the State Government should also be conscious about the health of its citizens and immediately ban the sale of magii in the state.
