Militancy Linked to Growing Unemployment in J&K: NCP
6/3/2015 11:52:06 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 3: Nationalist Congress Party today emphasised on peace through development in Jammu and Kashmir, saying the militancy and extremism are intimately linked with growing unemployment in the state.
"The militancy, extremism and insurgency are intimately linked with growing unemployment and a blurring of vision of the governments", NCP State President, Thakur Randhir Singh told reporters here today.
The party emphasised on peace through development and arming the youth with the training and tools of entrepreneurship, Singh said.
He further said this will create the necessary ambiance conducive to growth of entrepreneurship, which is an integral part of comprehensive development and creation of institutions, which will guide the gullible youth to the path of peace and prosperity.
But the situation which is developing in Jammu and Kashmir is an area of concern and government should address it on urgent basis, he said.
While welcoming the new entrants in the party, Singh blamed the role of the successive governments for the last 35 years that J and K has become the "second most corrupt" state in the country.,
"The role of the NCP cadre will always be to expose political leaders who have made this noble profession of social service as commerce", he said.
He said that some rulers in the past and their "henchmen" have created a big void between the 3 regions of the state by ignoring the equal share of representation in the field of development, employment and in the legislature.
Singh alleged that they had deliberately not implemented the delimitation act, that has created ill will among the three regions.
Singh further said the youth of the J&K have a natural aptitude for sports. "Sports persons from the J&K have already established their credentials in mountaineering, athletics etc".
"The Sports Authority of J&K should be strengthened, and sports talents in the region be identified rather early, he added.
Sports oriented education as part of formal residential school for which facilities are already being offered in the country should be increasingly popularised in three regions of the state- Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh, he added.
NCP said the people of the region have always naturally been captivated by the music, art and culture flowing from their very rich and diversified ethnicity.
"The talents of the youth should be channelised into these areas constructively as an unfailing measure of recognising them and making them feel cared for", he added.
Singh also demanded the government to declare J&K as a herbal state so that the youth can get employment in this vital sector.
