Kathua, June 3: Stray animals have become a major threat to human life in city while the district authorities and the municipal council as well have utterly failed to find any solution to the problem so far. Kathua city could only boast of modern concrete structures marked with bunch of commercial and residential buildings bedecks the landscape of Kathua rendering a class look to the city. However, among these beautiful structures, the stray animals also mark their frequent presence on the city roads and the problem of stray animals is becoming a black spot for the city. Rajesh Gupta and Pankaj Sharma both hailing from Kathua town said that apart from becoming a black spot for the city, the problem of stray animals causes a lot of discomfort and trouble to the citizens of city. "Accident cases caused by stray animals are rising day by day, they lamented and regretted that authorities at the helms of affairs still are in deep slumber. Alleging the pathetic attitude of Municipal Council Kathua towards the stray animal menace, Vidhan said, "Despite several incidents of attack by stray animals especially dogs the concerned department seemed numb and cold as far as its response was required." Seemar Singh Sasan said, "Several times I submitted complaints to the Municipal Council authorities regarding stray cattle menace but to no avail." Sanjeev Sharma said, "Although Kathua is a developing city yet the concept of urban planning is missing here as number of villages surround the Municipal area. And inhabitants of these villages have cattle's rearing is an important source of livelihood and this could be termed as main reason of stray cattle menace in Kathua. He said that the authorities need to take due measures against the crisis before it is too late. |
