Land dispute row: People allege DSP holds them hostage | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 7: Gursai village in district Poonch witnessed hue and cry when some persons alleged that they were held hostage by a DSP rank person. The matter was reported to police and accordingly a police team rushed to the spot and freed the captives, including two ladies. As per reports, the bone of contention was of 21 kanals of land that was situated in village Gursai. One Fatima Bi of the same village claims it to be hers. Reports further said that, soon after having a complaint, a police team was rushed to the spot,but the captives refused to come out from the room till the disputed land was restored to them. Later, the matter was put up with the revenue department for further disposal. Meanwhile, DSP Rafiq Choudhary when contacted said that the piece of land in question was allotted to them and he had all valid documents to prove this, adding, it was the drama of other party to tarnish his image and that of his family members. SSP Poonch Jatinder Singh Johar said that police had not received any complaint from the aggrieved persons in this connection. |
