Flouting ban orders, Maggi sale continues in district | | | Early Times Report Kathua, June 7: Despite ban imposed by state government on sale of Maggi noodles, the sale of Maggi is going on unabated, and the Food Control department has shut down eyes. On being asked a shopkeeper said that they were aware of ban on Maggi but adding that nobody told them to remove the Maggi stocks. "If any customer asks for we provide them", he said, adding that no one from any department asked them to stop the sale of products. Similarly, in other parts of the district including mountainous tehsils, Maggi is easily available. Most of the people are unknown about the ban and shop owners have not even removed Maggi cartons from their shops. "The law enforcement department is seemingly in deep slumber and may be waiting for some tragedy", a citizen said. The Minister CAPD has already asked all the District commissioners to ensure that the ban is enforced strictly and has also asked the field staff to monitor the ban enforcement but same is violated. |
