Suharwardhy 'slaps' Yatri 7/2/2015 12:11:00 AM Early Times Report Doda, July 1: Tension gripped this frontier town on Wednesday when people hailing from minority community staged a protest against alleged slapping of drum beater who was part of local Yatra congregation by a relative of former Minister of State for Home and National Conference leader Khalid Najeeb Suharwardhy. As per the details, Abdul Hamid Suharwardhy allegedly slapped the yatri which infuriated the pilgrims and locals who blocked the road outside DC Office and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. After protesting for nearly one hour, the officials of the administration called upon the agitating people and assured them that the action would be initiated against the guilty.
