PDDEU holds meeting, demands early regularization of daily wagers 7/13/2015 11:19:16 PM EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, July 13: A meeting of J&K PDD Employees Union (PDDEU)/ Daily Wagers Union (DWU) was held here today wherein several union leaders took part and addressed the members. In the meeting, the Union leaders stated that the Power Development Department (PDD) has issued different orders of regularization of daily wagers (PDL/TDL) for different districts, which is causing partiality with these poor employees. The daily wagers strongly raise the issue of partiality with Jammu and Kathua districts adding that while Jammu is the largest district in Jammu province, only 321 daily wagers have been regularized from there whereas only 60 have been regularized in Kathua district. On comparing with other districts of Jammu province, it was observed that the daily wagers of Udhampur, Doda, Rajouri and Poonch districts have been regularized upto 2004 whereas the Daily Wagers of Jammu and Kathua districts have been regularized upto September 1997 and March 1995 respectively. This type of sheer injustice with these daily wagers, who have completed more than seven years of services in the department, is causing resentment amongst these employees, they said adding that here are a large number of posts lying vacant in the PDD and with such a huge counting of daily wagers to be regularized, the concerned authorities are not paying any proper heed for redressal of genuine demands of daily wagers. The members further said that in comparison, more than 2005 daily wagers have been regularized in Kashmir province and at present there is not even single case of daily wager to be considered for regularization. This is clear indication of injustice with the candidates of Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts, they added. The Union requests the department authorities to abide by the assurances of the former Chief Minister and initiate immediate steps for regularization of daily wagers upto 2005 in the first phase in PDD and further regularization of daily wagers till date in PDD as well as other departments.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
