YHAI holds meet, discusses upcoming trekking expedition | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 13: Youth Hostels Association of India (YHAI) J&K State Branch today held a meeting under the chairmanship of Padamshree Er SP Varma Chairman J&K State Branch. Addressing the meeting, S.P. Varma Chairman YHAI said that YHAI is an international organization having membership more than 2 lakhs in India and 5 million worldwide. Known as Hostelling International worldwide , it is spread in 90 countries and have more than 6 thousands youth hostels in which budget accommodation is provided to its members. He further said that YHAI through its programmes brings youth closer to nature. Adventure promotion is its main objective. While welcoming the participants Dr. Taran Singh Hon. Secretary YHAI briefed about the activities of YHAI J&K State Branch. He informed that National Heritage Trek was organised successfully since last 8 years in District Udhampur for its members. YHAI will organize trekking expedition on Sri Mata Vaishno Devi trek in September-October this year with the collaboration of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board with its base camp at Hotel Ashok Jammu. |
