One way traffic allowed on NH-1A after landslides at Sheer Bibi | | | Early Times Report Banihal, Aug 14: Traffic on ever busy 300 kilometer long Jammu Srinagar national was affected last mid night after overnight rains in Ramsoo area triggered landslides at Sheer Bibi and Gangroo area in between Banihal and Ramban. Local reports said, soon after the landslides were triggered and affected the normal traffic, the Border Road Organization (BRO) impressed its men and machinery and got debris of slides cleared and restored one way traffic on Friday afternoon. Meanwhile Traffic police sources said that during the intervening night of Thursday/Friday the slide triggered with a tree in Sheer Bibi and Gangroo Ramsoo area on highway at 2 am on night. They said traffic was halted at Ramban-Chanderkote and Banihal and other parts of the highway. BRO men cleared the slides and restored the highway for one way traffic at 11:30 am here today. "After the clearance of BRO traffic police first allow the stranded vehicles at Banihal towards Jammu then allowed the other stranded vehicles towards valley and up to the late night the process was continued, sources said. |
