Independence Day & the State Obcs | | Prof. Kali Dass | 8/15/2015 12:09:57 AM |
| Every year, the Independence Day is celebrated with pomp & Show four Independence Day the Indians have the pride of being free from the foreign rulers (the English). This also means that we are now in a free country in which rulers are not foreigners and the country is being run under the constitution which grants equal rights for all and under which the Apex Court also gave its judgment on Mandal Report in 1992 there by granting 27% reservation to the OBCs in the country after 45 years of Independence a deliberate long delay. This Report was implemented through out the country & in all the states. But J&K State is the only State where. This Mandal Report has not been implemented. All Political Parties like N.C; Congress; Panthers; BJP & PDP are against the due share of the State OBCs & so never plead for OBCs. When leaders of the Political Parties do not attach any sense and importance to the "Social Justice"; then for what pride we celebrate the "Independence Day" under the loud noise of Independence Day celebrations; the legal and constitutional rights of the poor are being marred. High claims of different Ruling Political Parties for equal justice and justice for all remained a hollow slogan. Situation before & after independence in J&K has not changed and the rulers only rule for about 10% of the State population belonging to Apex Court Judgement. So the Govt. and the Political Parties must make a good sense of the celebrations of the "Independence Day" for the State poor people, particularly the State OBCs. What thoughts are kept in view by PDP and BJP leaders while making statements of "Good Governance". When Dy. Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh says "the coalition Govt. is neither political not ideological then the only sense it makes that they want to be in power only for lucrative benefits ignoring the "Social Justice" without of which "Development of any kind is meaningless & senseless". This was all discussed in a meeting of the union under the chairmanship of its president Jenab Abdul Majid Malik in which all the Central Committee members including Prof. Kali Dass were present. |
