105th Birth Anniversary of Mother Terasa celebrated | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 26: GS Accounts Institute celebrated 105th birth anniversary of Mother Teresa. Chairman of the Institute Girish Sharma along with the Ravinder Kumar Sr. faculty and all the staff members of the Institute lightened the traditional lamp at Institute Premises and throw light on the life history of Mother Teresa. Speaking on the occasion, Girish Sharma said Mother Teresa was born on 27 August, 1910 at Skopje , Macedonia. Mother Teresa's original name was Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu. . Her father was a successful merchant and she was youngest of the three siblings. She received her First Communion at the age of five and a half and was confirmed in November 1916. From the day of her First Holy Communion, a love for souls was within her. He said she would be remembered for her love for the ailing, the poor, the dying. Vikram Singh said she has received a number of awards and distinctions. Numerous awards, beginning with the Indian Padmashri Award in 1962 and notably the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979, honored her work, while an increasingly interested media began to follow her activities. |
