| JYF seeks pre-mature retirement to idle sitting DDE professors | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 26: The Jammu Youth Forum (JYF) held protest demanding pre-mature retirement of idle sitting DDE professors.
Addressing the gathering of the protest JYF president Mohammad Akram Ahmed said, "It is a shame on the part of JU Vice Chancellor Prof R D Sharma who have given patronage to a good number of DDE professors who are drawing hefty salaries and that too without doing any work for the last several years. They are teaching just 15 classes per year under Personal Contact Programme and pulling out huge amount every month. It exposed the claims of accountability and transparency in the University functioning." He alleged that Prof V V Nagendra Rao (Political Science), Prof Heena Abrol (History), Dr Neelam Choudhary (Economics), Prof JasPal Singh (B.Ed), Prof Sushil Sharma (Punjabi), and Dr. G.L.Wazir(Law) are among the DDE professors who are enjoying free salaries and ruining the work culture in the University. All these should be given pre-mature retirement by the Chancellor of the University as done by the State Government to 64 of its officials two-month ago, he demanded. |
