Jammu, Sept 13 : Two women were killed and one received burn injuries in separate incidents across Jammu region. ''A woman was killed when she was hit by a speedily driven car in Saketar area near Jhajjar Kotli on the Jammu-Srinagar national highway in this winter capital of the state, police here today said. They said a car on way from Jammu to Udhampur last night hit a pedestrian identified as Krishna Devi, 45, resident of Saketar. She died on the spot. She was rushed to the Primary Health Centre, Dansal while the body has been handed over to the family after legal formalities.A case has been registered and investigation started and manhunt launched to apprehend the absconding accused. Meanwhile in another incident, a woman allegedly committed suicide by jumping into a nullah in Udhampur district. Anju Devi, 29, resident of Battal Ballian, last evening jumped into a nullah, few meters away from her house. ''The body was fished out while a case has been registered and investigations started,'' the police added. However, one Geeta Devi, 45, resident of Ranbir Singh Pura, Jammu last night received about 90 per cent burn injuries when a stove exploded due to kerosene leakage at her home. She was rushed to the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu where her condition was started to be critical. Police have registered a case. |
