Kishtwar, Sept 13: After the New Year 2015 expulsion of over 100 Kashmiri students by NIMS University over an allegedly "wrong" reason", over 1500 students have been asked by the management of Pacific University, Udhaipur, Rajasthan to vacate the campus after a fight between one student from the state and a Rajasthani student took an ugly turn.
While talking to Early Times, they claimed that the fight between two students over a small issue inside hostel mess was resolved on the intervention of other students. They alleged that after some time, the Rajasthani student turned up along with other local students and beat them up with lathies and other things, resulting in injuries to five of them. They also alleged that the locals broke their laptops and other personal belongings and later got them arrested. They also asked them to leave the campus. They alleged that when they approached the Registrar of the university, he, instead of ensuring their security, asked them to vacate the campus. "Registrar didn't listen to us nd showed helplessness in ensuring our security and instead arranged buses for us and asked them to board them and vacate the campus," said one of them. He alleged that the local students and goons had full backing of police and university authorities. Majority of the students were alleged to have vacated the campus. "We are heading towards Jammu for our onward journey to our respective residences," they told this reporter over phone."There are over 2000 students from J&K pursuing education in various four year degree and other professional courses. Majority of students had packed their bags are ready to leave for home," said Syed Imran.
