Erratic SSRB website fails job seekers | | | Shiv Dev Thakur Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 13: The claims of e-governance of Jammu and Kashmir once again fell flat as the SSRB website refused to accept online application forms. The Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board had advertised posts of various departments and asked the students to fill up forms online. However, heavy rush on the web, crashed site and poor speed of internet created the hurdle. Many a student could not submit the form. The students who had access to internet at their homes too were dejected when they could not download the challan for submitting fee in the Jammu and Kashmir Bank as mentioned in the form. The website is designed and developed by State Centre of National Informatics Centre (NIC) Jammu, Jammu & Kashmir and hoisted to enable students fill up their forms online but it is not proved beneficial as desired. Eccentrically, there is no other provision for the students to submit hard copies of these forms either by hand or through any other means of communication that left several hundred students high and dry. A surfer Mohammad Iqbal while sharing his grief told early times that the website of JKSSB (www.jkssb.nic) is as slow as it failed to entertain the students desirous of filling up form. He added that earlier he failed to download and fill up the form, but once he succeeded after uncountable attempts, became unable to download the challan which is mandatory to submit fee in Bank. Another student Nidhi Verma added that JKSSB in its website has also directed students to submit their e-signatures, e-thumb impression and e-photo of a particular size which is not possible for several hundred students to do by themselves. She added that the government has not uploaded user friendly website which rundown the students from filling up forms for the given posts. Gurvinder Singh, another student said, "this is not for the first time we are facing the problems while filling online forms but the same was experienced few months back at the time of filling online form for the post of Naib Tehsildar notified by the same board (JKSSB)." He added that the applicants are facing problems filling up the forms as when every time any applicant logged in, the website responds "Error Encountered. Please try again later. |
