Jammu, Sep 13 : Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-) in collaboration with J&K State Council for Science & Technology and Department of Science & Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi, is organizing a three- day Jammu & Kashmir Agricultural Science Congress from 28th to 30th October, 2015, at its Main Campus, Chatha. As informed by the organizing Secretary, Dr. V.K. Razdan, 500-600 delegates of different specializations of Agriculture, Veterinary and Basic Sciences from all over the India are expected to attend this Agricultural Science Congress of the State. The lead lectures shall be delivered by eminent scientists of the country in their respective fields of specialization. The three-day deliberations shall include socio- economic dynamics of farming, rural livelihood, management of water / land resources, alternate farming system / farm diversification, technological innovations on crop / livestock management, climate resilience in agriculture, managing biotic / abiotic stresses, challenges/strategies in animal health and productivity. The Congress aims to serve as a platform for evolving a holistic consensus on future strategies for giving direction to agricultural research to increase production and productivity.
