EDP on Himayat scheme concludes 11/30/2015 11:15:25 PM Early Times Report Reasi, Nov 30:- A fresh batch of 78 aspiring entrepreneurs including seven girls passed out from J&K Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) Reasi after completing the three-week Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP). The batch comprising of young educated boys and girls were trained under self employment component of Himayat scheme, a "path breaking" initiative of Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India and implemented by JKEDI. Himayat is aimed at providing entrepreneurial skills for sustainable livelihood to youth of J&K and facilitate access to finance services. The EDP started on 13th November at DC camp office Mahore with the support of Bagga based Rashtriya Rifles battalion and civil administration of Mahore which provided requisite infrastructural and administrative support for the training . The training program was designed for manufacturing and services sector and the aspiring entrepreneurs have chosen various activities like Sheep & dairy farming, Manufacturing, Retail Shops, Dapartmental stores and boutiques. The three week EDP was aimed at providing lessons on skill development, performance improvement as well as business cum sector specific, and self-development training to the aspiring entrepreneurs. The trained youth will now be provided financial linkage to help them start their business ventures said Vir Partap Singh Salathia , DNO JKEDI Reasi.
