Now Omar boards 'intolerance' bandwagon | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 30: Omar Abdullah, who stoked communal feeling when he publicly stated that more Muslims than Hindus had died in the Kishtwar communal tension, has now joined the bandwagon of intolerance. Omar went on to say that there was unrest because of the growing incidents of the intolerance in the country and even cited the incident of Udhampur and Dadri. The former CM had though conveniently ignored the fact that the Prime Minister has categorically stated that India was the only religion and Constitution only holy book for the Government and had even expressed concern about the Dadri incident. Omar, who dreams to be CM again, has also ignored the fact that there has not been any other incidents in the country after Dadri and in Udhampur, the police investigations have established that BJP was not involved in the attack. The former CM though has the rare distinction when there was communal tension in the Kishtwar region, he tweeted that two Muslims and one Hindu had died in clashes. "It is the worst example of the communal mindset. No CM had ever done so, it speaks about how Omar views the society and now he is talking about intolerance. Isn't his tweet was height of intolerance," said a senior NC leader , who is not in agreement with the view of the former CM. Omar also raised these issues just days after the visit of engineer Rashid, who had already tried to vitiate the atmosphere in the Doda district. " Omar is just doing what Rashid has tried but the only difference is that Omar is using words cleverly and that is only difference otherwise both have the same mindset and ideology," said a senior official. |
