Additional DC, GM Industries posts vacant in Kathua, hundreds of files pending | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 30: Hundreds of files are pending in district Kathua for months together with people facing many hardships as the post of Additional Deputy Commissioner is vacant for over last four months now. With the transfer of last ADC in the month of July the Government ahs failed to post new incumbent to the office of ADC with the result the burden of work has increased on DC and Assistant Commissioner Revenue. The silence maintained by the Government over the issue has been a cause of concern among the people in the district as they are put to many hardships in clearance of cases as hundreds files are pending for clearance in the district since then. Though the authorities have assigned the task to the AC Revenue to perform the duties as ADC but being over burdened with many other tasks he is not able to do justice to the job with the result the files remain pending for months tighter. Though the people of district have made representations to the concerned authorities number of times besides the public representatives as well as representatives of various political parties taking up the issue with higher authorities in Civil Secretariat but to no avail. People from remote areas visiting DC office Kathua have to waste days together is settlement of their cases which otherwise could have been settled in a day or so. Every time they reach DC Office they have to go empty hands as the ADC post is vacant and ACR is unable to perform the duty due to heavy work load. But there is no one in the corridors of civil secretariat right from Chief Minister to Revenue Secretary who can hear their plea. ``We have approached every one in the Government requesting them to post the ADC Revenue in Kathua as early as p[possible but all our pleas fell on deaf ears'' says Ramesh Kumar a social activist from Sheetal Nagri Basholi. He said the people coming from far flung areas of Bani, Billawar etc have to return empty hands as district authorities are unable to clear their files. He said the ADC is an important post to deal with agrarian reforms in the State and without his positing the DC office remains almost defunct. Supporting him Tej Ram a political activist from Bani said that it is unfortunate that the Government is adopting delaying tactics in filling up this important post. He said if the attitude of the Government remains the same towards the district the people will be forced to come to streets. The callousness of the Government towards the district can be gauged from the fact that the general manager industries post is also vacant in the district for a long time. Despite Kathua being the industrial hub the district is without the post of G M Industries which ahs been a cause of concern for the industry. This way the claims of the government to promote industry in the district will prove a failure, said Raman Khullar a local industrial worker. |
