15th Research Council Meeting of SKUAST-J held | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 30: The 15th Research Council Meeting of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Jammu was held at the University Campus under the Chairmanship of Prof. Pradeep K. Sharma. Besides the statutory members of the council consisting of the Officers of the University, Directors of the Line Department ( J&K Govt.), Deans of Faculties, Head of the Divisions of Agriculture, Veterinary, Basic Science and School of Biotechnology, Stations of the University and four external experts in the field of agriculture and veterinary sciences attended the meeting. The two days meeting deliberate upon the outcome of the research work carried out by the scientist in the field of agriculture, animal sciences & biotechnology and other allied sector during last two years and recommendations made for the benefit of farmers of Jammu region. The council also discussed about the future research proposals based on the feedback of line department for farming community of different future agriculture region of Jammu province. Dr. Jag Paul Sharma, Member Secretary & Director Research, SKUAST-Jammu welcomed the participant and presented the research achievements made by the scientist of the University in various fields. He informed that 68 adhoc projects worth Rs 20.35 crores are currently running in the University and that 70 research projects have been submitted to various agencies for funding. The Vice Chancellor in his introductory remarks emphasized upon the scientist to work on the monopoly crops of the respective regions in consonance with climate change of state particularly for dryland areas to boost production and productivity of crops and animals. |
