United Front for Social Justice holds "Maha Rally" | Seeks implementation of Court's Order of no reservation in promotions | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 27: Strengthening the movement for seeking the implementation of the court's order regarding the no reservation in promotions, the United Front for Social Justice (UFSJ) for General Category held a peaceful rally in Jammu. People gathered in strength here to press for the court order where in it has struck down the section 6 of the J&K Reservation Act 2004 and rules 9,10 and 34 of J&K Reservation Rules 2005 while declaring it as ultra vires and unconstitutional. General public including traders, students and employees participated in huge numbers to register their protest against the delaying tactics of the government in implementation of the court's order. Shouting the anti-reservation slogans, protesters came down heavily on the political leaders, who are playing dirty politics of vote banks keeping the fate of majority at stake. They exhort elected representatives to come forward and express their views openly and favour the court's decision. Satish Sharma, Convener UFSJ while addressing the rally said, "We won't allow the state government to play with politics of vote bank in the name of reservation which is fatal for the upcoming generation." "If the government fails to implement the order, it shall have adverse consequences and we shall go for the mass agitation across the state and mobilize each member of the general category against the government," he added. |
