Early Times Report

Srinagar, Dec 27: The anti-Geelani protests rocked Srinagar city for the second consecutive day Sunday, with people mostly youth accusing the hardliner separatist of exploiting them for his petty personal gains.
Sources and witnesses confirmed 'Early Times' that the youth, who otherwise considered Geelani as their role model, Sunday staged demonstrations against him at various places for 'his anti-national and anti-youth' policies. Clad in masks and carrying placards reading -- Listen Geelani, Nationalism is Haram then how come Kashmir Banega Pakistan -- the protesting youth accused Geelani of exploiting Kashmiri youth for his petty personal interests.
Pertinently, youth at many places in the J&K's summer capital had yesterday also staged anti-Geelani protests with the hardline separatist faction maintaining a silence on the issue.
The angry youth also accused Geelani of fomenting violence by using the senseless lot for carrying anti-national activities.
The photographs of masked protesters have also gone viral on Facebook and other social media with elders appreciating the youth for their courage and nationalistic sentiments.
"Why should we follow Geelani, people of Kashmir specially youth achieved nothing other than difficulties due to his regular shutdown calls. We are Indians and appeal all Kashmiri youth not to fall prey to the nefarious designs of people like Geelani," witnesses quoted protesters as having said.
Witnesses said the youth who were less in number took a jibe at Geelani and other anti-peace people like him for exploiting the youth of Kashmir.
"It was really shocking to see Kashmiri youth protesting against Geelani. It was hard to believe that the youth who staged the protests were Kashmiris," a witness told Early Times.
Without revealing the place where the protests were held, witnesses said youth also shouted slogans against Geelani.
"We want a bright future and are not interested in stone pelting. If Geelani is really interested to fight for the Kashmir cause, let his relatives and family members also join Hurriyat first," a young protester said.
Pertinently, it's for the first time when youth in Srinagar city have staged demonstrations to protest the Geelani's policy vis-à-vis Kashmir.
