Govt has no problem to disband VDCs! | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 27: After imposing 12.5 percent tax on pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi, ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leaders are now all out to get the Village Defence Committees (VDCs) disbanded, thanks to power hungry BJP ministers who are more concerned about fulfilling their own personal agenda instead of strengthening nationalist forces. For public consumption BJP ministers are giving statements to strengthen disbanding of VDCs but they have not taken up this issue with coalition partner PDP. Demand of disbanding VDCs gains momentum during the last three days but BJP has not convene any meeting of party's core group to discuss this issue. The so-called "Core-Group" is more concerned about rehabilitating their "loyalists" and "sycophants" on money minting posts and positions. Five days back on Tuesday, Peerzada Mansoor Hussain, political advisor to PDP President Mehbooba Mufti and senior party leader had declared dreaded Hizbul Mujahideen self-claimed commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani as a "Youth Icon". Shockingly none of the BJP minister has taken this issue with PDP nor the "Core-Group" has discussed this very very sensitive issue. Security forces are looking for this dreaded terrorist but PDP leader is dubbing him as "Youth Icon" Credible sources in the BJP said that "Core Group" of the party devote most of time to convince their colleagues in the panel to get their "sycophants" adjusted on plum positions. Some RSS leaders, who have given job to ensure that BJP would not deviate from ideological agenda, are themselves working as brokers to adjust their loyalists on important positions. Meanwhile CAPD minister Choudhary Zulfikar today demanded disbanding of VDCs. "It (the continuance of VDCs) needs to be reviewed and where there is peace, there is no need", he said, adding "It (VDC system) was established during past when the situation was not normal. Now is the time to disband them,". |
