Early Times Report JAMMU, Dec 27: As a sequel to celebration in connection with the 125th birth anniversary of Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan, a function was held by Greater Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (GJCMS) at Justice Mehar Chand Mahajan Park Gandhi Nagar wherein heads of all biradaries /sabhas of Jammu were invited for interaction. After Puran Ahuti of Havan, various issues of general public interest came under discussions which include bringing simplicity in marriage ceremonies, to minimize the number of baraties (marriage party), putting a stop on the tradition of dowry, no distribution of sweet box with invitation cards and extending invitation through mobile or e-mail. During the interaction, a few reforms recently adopted by Jain Biradari were highly appreciated and it was hoped that such initiatives will certainly help the other biradaries in following the suit. All the participants welcomed the initiatives taken by GJCMS in bringing all the biradaries on one platform for achieving a social and common cause aiming at welfare of all. After thorough discussion on the issues, it was decided that all Biradaries heads will discuss these issues internally within their respective sabhas and would take steps to ensure that suggested reforms are adopted and implemented in letter and spirit.
