Poonch, Dec 27: Major tragedy was averted when a pressure cooker fitted improvised explosive device was today defused by the security forces in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Acting on a tip-off that an IED fitted in a pressure cooker weighing around 10-kg was this morning hidden under a bridge in Sakhi Maidan area of Mendhar, police and army acted swiftly," police sources here said.
The IED was seized and defused by the Army, averting a major tragedy, they said, adding that a case has been registered and investigation started. |
