NSF demands probe in delayed declaration of JU results | | | JAMMU, Dec 27 : The National Secular Forum (NSF) has blamed the University of Jammu (JU) of spoiling the precious time of students by unnecessarily delaying the declaration of various Post Graduate examinations hence violated the statutes mentioned in the University Act which states that every result should be declared within 45 days of the conduct of the examination. Addressing a press conference here today, NSF senior vice president Surjit Choudhary asked the Vice Chancellor, Prof R D Sharma to set his house in order which has so far completely failed to do justice with the student community. He said, "Vice Chancellor always lay stress on following the University Statutes for every purpose but forgets the same when it comes to declaration of results. It's been 14 months since he took over the reins of University but till date no concrete step has been taken to improve the functioning of Examination Wing. He mentioned that results of several PG Courses have been delayed by months altogether which was costing dearly to the students as they had to apply at different places for jobs as well as further education but University authorities were least bothered despite of the fact that Chancellor of the University (Governor N N Vohra) has reprimanded the Vice Chancellor on several occasions on this account. The NSF senior vice president urged the State Government to take cognizance of the failure of the University administration in timely delivery of services to the students. |
