Bhandari demands revamping of District Congress unit | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Jan 4: The Congress activists in Kishtwar have demanded immediate reconstitution of district Congress Committee so that it can perform a role of viable opposition in the district and to highlight the problems of masses there. The demand was put by the senior leader of the Party Shamsher Singh Bhandari while chairing a meeting of the activists of the party here today and made a fervent appeal to PCC chief, G A Mir in this regard. "With the constitution of the district body the Congress can put up[ these problems with concerned authorities and also if need be launch a struggle for their solution, he underlined. Bhandari said that the condition of roads is worst in the district and the Highway from Batote- to Kishtwar has become a death trap and Congress needs to raise these issues before the concerned quarters. On this occasion, Bhandari also maintained that issue of various power projects is hanging in air but the issues yet have not been highlighted. "Congress being a viable opposition needs to put these issues before the concerned quarters for the overall development of Chenab valley and this can't be done in absence of a well knit district body of the Party which needs to be constituted as early as possible, he underlined, adding, "Various issues can only be raised by the Party cadre when there is a recognized district body. |
