Insensitivity of extreme form

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 4: At a time when India is in a state of shock and mourning following the terror attack on the very strategic Pathankot air force base, insensitive Pakistan came out with a sinister proposal asking New Delhi to draw up a road map for next six months to carry forward the bilateral engagement. Underlining that there was "visible improvement" in Indo-Pak ties, Pakistan said that "the foreign secretaries of the two countries will meet (in Islamabad) on January 15 to draw up a roadmap for the next six months to carry forward the bilateral engagement".
The obnoxious statement came the day when seven brave soldiers were cremated in different parts of the country with full honour.
They lost their precious lives while protecting the vital operational and strategic assets, including helicopters worth several crores of rupees, and saving the lives of the people.
The Pakistani-sponsored, trained and indoctrinated terrorists armed with sophisticated weapons attacked the air force base on January 2 at about 3 a.m.
Pakistan on Monday said that Islamabad "will focus on the revival of peace process in Afghanistan and the consolidation of the process of improvement of relations with India. Radio Pakistan reported this quoting Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif's Adviser on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz.
Quoting Aziz, Radio Pakistan said that the foreign secretaries of the two countries will meet here on January 15 to draw up a roadmap for the Bilateral Comprehensive Dialogue for the next six months. "The dialogue will cover all issues, including Kashmir, Siachen and water, it also said.
It is height of insensitivity that Pakistan pitched for a roadmap for six months to carry forward what Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj called "comprehensive" dialogue process with Pakistan. In fact, Islamabad today rubbed salt on the wounds of Indian nation, which is seething with anger and asking Prime Minister Narendra Modi to not only cancel the impending foreign secretary-level talks, but also urging him to order overt and covert operations in Pakistan to avende the Pathankot and similar other terror attacks in India.
It is a matter of regret that the Government of India has till date not blamed Pakistan for the Pathankot terror attack, which has further angered the people of the country.
In the meantime, the families of the martyrs have rededicated themselves to the cause of the nation and said they would continue to lay down their precious lives for the nation like their beloved ones did on January 2 and 3. The grateful nation salutes the members of the bereaved families. It is because of their supreme sacrifices that the leaderless India is surviving.
Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi act to assuage the hurt feeling of the Indians? For how long will New Delhi disappoint the people of India by pursuing weakened policies? The patience of the Indians is running out, it must not be ignored.
