Early Times Report Kishtwar, Jan 4: Electric Department Lineman & Workers Union (EDL&WU) Kishtwar today held a meeting at Kishtwar under the chairmanship of its President Mohammad Rafi Kichloo in which members decided to go on strike in case the government fails to fulfill the genuine demands of the employees by January 11. According t spokesperson, the meeting was also attended by representatives of Joint Action Committee Kishtwar wherein the participating members raised the demand of immediate implementation of SRO-59, 64 & 149, release of wages of PDL and need based workers, Safety tools to field staff viz. Hand gloves, link Rods and gum shoes. Other demands raised in this meeting included time bound promotions whenever due and filling of all the posts laying vacant in the department as there was acute shortage of staff in the department. During the meeting the union leaders warns authorities that they have decided to go on strike in case the government fails to fulfill the genuine demands of the employees by 11/1/2016. Among the prominent who attended the meeting include Kul Bushan Sharma, Saroop Chand Wazir, Ghulam Rasool Shargadu, Ghulam Mohammad Shah, Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, Abdul Latief Rather, Buti Lal, Ravinder Kumar, Suresh Kumar and others. |
