Jammu, Jan 4 : To acquaint the farmers about the latest techniques in farming, the Agriculture Department Gadigarh organized one day awareness camp under National Food Security Mission scheme at village Chatha farm in zone Dharp falling under Sub Division Agriculture Officer, Rs Pura, A large number of farmers of the area including women participated in the camp. Sub Division Agriculture Officer, S. Harjeet singh delivered lecture about the wheat sowing, seed treatment, soil testing before sowing, balance dose of fertilizer, pesticides and other problems faced by the famers in the field. Agriculture Extension Officer Harbjhan singh said that a number of schemes for the cultivation of Paddy and maize are being sponsored by state as well as central government for the welfare of farmers. He along with Agriculture expert, Gurdeep Singh distributed pesticides, Zinc among farmers under the National Food Security Mission Scheme, free of cost. Local Sarpanch, Gurmeet Kour,Inderdeep Kour, Vikram and Panchs also spoke on the occasion. |
