SWB hails PM for revising RGNCS | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 6: Jammu and Kashmir Social Welfare Board (SWB) today appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Minister for Women and child Development Maneka Gandhi for revising Rajiv Gandhi National Crèche Scheme (RGNCS). According to press release, Board chairman Dr. (Prof.) Nirmal Gupta said that under the revised norms the salary of the Creche Teacher and Creche Worker have been enhanced from the existing Rs 1,000 per month, to Rs 3,000 and Rs 1,500 respectively, per month and the nutrition charges have been up-scaled from a paltry Rs 2.08 per child to Rs 12 per child per day. He further said that there are 694 Creche Centres in the State being run by J&K State Social Welfare Board through 124 Non Governmental Organisations, with the financial support of Central Social Welfare Board. She stated that it had been the pressing demand of the parents of the Children, as well as NGOs that the norms for Creche Centres should be revised. The NGOs associated with Social Welfare Board have also expressed their gratitude to Chairperson Social Welfare Board and Executive Director Aamir Ali for projecting their demands to CSWB and getting the revision of the norms of the Scheme, which will go a long way in the effective implementation of the Scheme, meant for the downtrodden families. |
