JK Police recruitment goes hi-tech | 2000 apply for 71 constable posts in Kishtwar | | Asif Iqbal Naik

Kishtwar, Jan 6: In order to bring transparency in the recruitment of cops, J&K police have put in place state-of-the-art gadgets here. The department has taken the help of a private company from Delhi to help it in carrying out the recruitment process through modern technique by way of involving modern electronic gadgets to make the recruitment process fair, according to police sources. Sources said police had put in place modern gadgets at Chowghan Ground here for the two day recruitment of 71 constables -- 53 in armed police and 18 in the district cadre. The government has also deputed ADGP Lalit Indu Mohanty, IGP Sunil Sharma, SSP Daleep Kumar, Dy. SP Basharat Ahmed, Dy. SP Ajaiz Ahmed and Dy SP Nikhil Ghour for effective monitoring of the recruitment process. The Kishtwar police would provide them all the requisite support. As per the recruitment norms, each male candidate will have to run 1600 metres race in 7 minutes to be monitored through electronic sensor jackets to be provided to each applicant. Several CCTV cameras have been installed for effective monitoring of measurement of height and chest which will also be done with the help of electronic devices. Each male candidate will have to do 40 pushups in physical test, while female candidates will be required to cover 1000 metres race in 7 minutes and pass the shot-put test. All those who qualify the physical test will have to undergo the process of document checking. The recruitment process will continue for two days. While talking to Early Times, many job aspirants showed their satisfaction over the placement of hi-tech and transparent system for recruitment process and added that the new system would put an end to corruption and litigation. They said the new system would also help those who had no political backing. Meanwhile, poor weather condition and prediction of rainfall has cost shadow over the recruitment rally, but the unemployed youth are ready to run even if it rains or snoes. Similar recruitment process will also be carried out in Doda and Poonch districts of the state.
