Mehbooba rules out action against Beigh, Karra | | | Muhammad Mukaram Early Times Report srinagar, Jan 6: Days after PDP President Mehbooba Mufti passed direction to her party men that there can be no action against senior disgruntled leaders Muzaffar Hussain Beigh and Tariq Hamid Karra, the PDP camp is abuzz with happiness as the top brass claims all the differences have been sorted out with its "rebel leaders." Both the party rebels were 'annoyed' over formation of Government with BJP. "Yes there were internal differences between the PDP and Tariq Karra and Muzaffar Beigh but now all the issues were sorted out. There were differences over Government formation with BJP," said PDP chief Spokesperson Mehboob Beg. "The differences with the Party over contentious issues like PDP's coalition with BJP have been ironed out with the Party President Mehbooba Mufti. She was continuously in touch with Mr Karra and Mr Beigh and has seemingly ironed out all the issues," Beg added. "Mehbooba has brought back both the senior and core founders of PDP. She was continuously trying hard to get back the duo," said a PDP Leader, who wished not to be named. Member Parliament and Senior PDP leader, Tariq Hamid Karra said he does not want to comment on the issue. Right from the beginning of PDP formed Government with right wing BJP, Karra and Beigh, the MPs from Srinagar and Baramulla respectively, brazenly started open revolt against PDP. On 17 June, Tariq Hameed Karra to begin with targeted PDP about the "Agenda of Alliance" with BJP and said that the PDP and the BJP has been just confined to paper and right from the day one there has been lack of harmony between the functioning of the coalition Government. Karra's first anti- party statement was that the PDP should re-think about its alliance with the BJP. This statement from Karra was after the Centre Government announced relief package for worst flood hit victims and termed it as, "Centre's same discriminatory approach towards Kashmiris." Another party rebel Muzaffar , representing from Baramulla Lok Sabha seat on PDP ticket also made the anti- PDP statement before the Government formation with BJP when he threatened to resign from Lok Sabha in the wake of attack over his statement on rehabilitation of West Pakistan refugees in Jammu and Kashmir and for favoring party's alliance with BJP. Both the angry senior and core founders of PDP, Karra and Beigh have, till date, not attended a single meeting of PDP-BJP coordination committee. Both have declared a number of times that they will not attend any of the meetings of the committee. |
