AVMJ calls for ending reservation | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 6: Aarakshan Virodhi Manch Jammu (AVMJ) today demanded from incumbent government to end discrimination being done to general category through reservation. According to press release, Manch president Ram Pal Seth said that previous government is responsible for promoting casteism, communalism and regionalism. He asked present N.D.A government to work on its main election slogan " Sab Ka Saath , Sab Ka Vikas". Seth further said that past injustices and caste cannot be criteria for reservation. The poor of all castes be provided economic help through special support measures (S.S.M). He also termed reservation a kiss of death for Nation and its continuation is the lowest point of Indian political democracy. It is an N-bomb that is likely to explode at any time. He also condemned recently passed ST/SC atrocity Act by parliament and demanded that it should be only atrocity Act. Raj Kumar Banathia vice president of Manch appealed to the general category people for unity and each constituents should respect the forces working against discrimination. He appealed to state Government to support the decision of J&K High Court before Supreme Court of India to maintain Rule of law and to avoid miscarriage of Justice otherwise J&K Government might count the costs in near future. Madan Lal Narad, Som Nath Sharma, Ravi Sawhney, V.K Sharma, Deepak Khajuria, Raj Kumar Banathia, Madan Abrol, all prominent activists of AVMJ were present on the occasion. |
