Police claims fratricide in HM ranks
Efforts on to arrest three more militants

BARAMULLA, Jan 6: Police have solved the murder mystery of an HM militant after arresting three people including another HM militant last evening here in Baramulla district of north Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference today here in Baramulla, DIG north Kashmir range, Garib Dass said that, "on Sep 9, 2015 an unidentified bullet ridden body was found lying in the orchards of village Devbug Kunzer, later identified as Fayaz Ahmad Bhat alias Showkat S/O Abdul Rahim Bhat R/O Wailoo Pattan who was an active militant of HM.
Prima facie it was established that the deceased was killed by some unidentified person or persons and accordingly Case FIR number 85/2015 under section 302/RPC, 7/27 Arms Act was registered in Police Station Kunzer, said DIG.
He said that during the course of investigation, it surfaced that Fayaz was killed by his own associates who were operating with him in Pattan-Kreeri-Kunzer belt. It was also revealed that a recycled ex-militant Tariq Ahmad War @ Javaid son of Ghulam Rasool War resident of Karalpora Wailoo Pattan, in order to eliminate deceased Fayaz Bhat hatched a criminal conspiracy along with other militants of HM outfit namely Bilal Ahmad Bhat son of Sonaullah Bhat resident of Takia Batpora, Nisar Ahmad Wani son of Ali Mohammad Wani resident of Adipora Kunzer and Ishfaq Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Rashid Lone resident of Chichilora.
This group of militants had developed some acrimony towards Fayaz, accusing him of misappropriation of funds and suspecting him of planning his surrender before Police and Security Forces, DIG added.
SSP Baramulla, Mir Imtiyaz Hussain said on Sep 18, 2015 at about 1700 hrs the group met in village Devbug Kunzer at an orchard and exchanged heated arguments. Thereafter during night, at a distance of couple of kilometers from the spot Fayaz was killed by a volley of gun fire by aforementioned terrorists from close range.
In the incident another militant Nisar Ahmad Wani son of Ali Mohammad Wani resident of Adipora, later killed in an encounter with Police/Security Forces on 21-oct-2015 also sustained gunshot wounds in the retaliatory gun fire by the deceased Fayaz, said SSP.
He said thereafter the body of Fayaz was carried in the Tata mobile load carrier bearing registration number JK04-4364 owned and driven by Sajad Ahmad son of Abdul Ahmad Sheikh resident of Devgug Kunzer and dumped at the spot where group had met in the orchards of village Devbug the same day at 1700 hrs.
After dumping the body en-route the injured militant Nisar was taken in the same vehicle to one medical practitioner Mohammad Irfan Ganaie S/O Ghulam Mohammad R/O Mulgam Kunzer who provided him medical aid.
The vehicle in question has been seized by police and Tariq Ahmad War, Sajad Ahmad Sheikh, Irfan Ganaie have been arrested in the instant case of murder while as another militant Nisar has got killed in an encounter with Police/Security Forces.
However, militants Bilal Ahmad Bhat S/O Sonaullah Bhat R/O Taki Batpora, Ishfaq Ahmad Wani S/OAbdul Rashid Wani R/O Chichilora are still at large and efforts are on to arrest them.
