KPs dub PM's Return, Rehabilitation package for Migrants as mere eyewash | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Jan 6: Kashmiri Pandits today staged strong protest rally to save the future of Kashmiri Pandits titled "Aakhir Kab Tak"which was attended in full strength by the employees working under PM Package. KP’s have been raising concerns and difficulties being faced by the Kashmiri Pandits for the last twenty six years with power corridors turning a deaf ear to their just and genuine demands adding further that the lackadaisical approach of the government in proper implementation of the PM package has completely put this scheme off-track putting the future of KP employees recruited under the said package in Kashmir valley in the doldrums. KP youth had volunteered in 2010 to move back to the valley on the promise that this will strengthen the Kashmiriyat and shall help build the broken bridges between the two communicates, but in vain due to gross apathy shown by the successive governments. Out of sanctioned 6000 jobs, only 1800 youth were recruited till date and the remaining 4200 posts are still left unfilled. Out of these 1800, some 800 employees have been provided accommodation that too on sharing basis. KP’s served an ultimatum upon the government to take immediate remedial measures on a war footing to adjust them in Central government offices, or make them migrants to relieve these employees of the harassment and mental torture, otherwise they will be forced to start direct action program calling all the employees back to Jammu working under PM package in different parts of the valley. |
