Udhampur, Jan 6: A middle aged man went missing for the last 10 days, was found dead at Kui Nallah in Latti. Police have initiated inquest proceedings in the matter.
According to police sources, the deceased has been identified as Hem Raj, son of Shiv Nath Bhagat of Pundal, Latti who was missing since December 27.
"On 3/1/2016 a missing report in this regard was lodged by his wife Nentay Devi, police sources said, adding, "accordingly police under SHO Latti SI Nissar Ahmed swung into action and launched massive search to trace missing person and during investigations, police recovered body of Hem Raj from Kohi Forest. Police shifted the body to District Hospital (DH) Udhampur for postmortem and registered a case in this connection, under Section 174 of RPC, for further investigation. |
