Engineers having stakes in 'popular Govt' too brooding, lamenting | Ex -Ministers sulking in silence…… | | Early Times Report Jammu, Feb 9: Imposition of Governor's rule in the State has come as a welcome development for those wishing to have transparent, corruption free Government in place contrary to some having vested interests in continuance of the PDP-BJP Government. If the Ministers in the erstwhile PDP-BJP coalition Government are sulking in silence over power having gone out of hands, there is this lot who had certain stakes in continuance of the political Government. Money game in transfer industry, out of turn promotions that prospered during NC-Congress coalition and continued in the previous coalition too has come to a halt, much to disappointment of stakeholders. Sources said over 100 engineers in a department headed by a BJP Ministers are brooding and bemoaning over the coalition Government having gone and ceasing to exist for an indefinite period. They are lamenting over this development more than the actual stake holders for a valid reason, sources said, adding that it is the stakes on their money which is at risk. Sources said since most of these engineers have obtained degrees from outside the State from unrecognized universities, they want to push themselves to higher posts through promotions albeit on the basis of the money, something that has been a precedence in the department. Sources said these engineers have pooled their share which cumulatively makes quite an amount of money that was to be given to "political bosses" for ensuring their names in the promotion list. Sources said even there is a system in place for such malpractices since NC-Congress coalition Government in huge money changing hands whether in cases of transfers or out of turn promotions, things did not change a bit during PDP-BJP Government, instead grew stronger during the 10 month long rule. Sources said since many of these engineers are aware they will not find the names in promotion lists in comparison to those having valid degrees, they use short cut routes and the influence of money that reaches appropriate quarters through proper and well laid out channels in the department. This time also as many as 125 engineers had offered their 'share' for getting their 'job' done, only to see things having turned turtle , sources said, adding that not only has their money gone but they feel bad for more for the reason that their chances of either getting promotions or their choicest postings (in case of senior posts of engineers), have come to a naught under the Governor's rule |
